Golf with a Difference
16th July 2001
Yes, 13 holes of frisbee golf, courtesy of the UK champion at his own course between Leamington and Kenilworth. In the words of Hannah Towler - "It's brilliant !"
Date and time : Monday 16th July, toss off from 7:30 onwards. Get there by 7pm if you can.
Venue : Quarry Park disc golf course. It's on Old Milverton Lane, the road opposite where the B4113 joins the A452, click here for a map. About quarter of a mile on the right is the entrance to the BPAS Blackdown Clinic. Go up the drive and park in the field on the left just before the Clinic reception.
Dress : Casual. The course leads down to the Avon and can be boggy or rough in a couple of places so walking boots might be a good idea.
Meal : Afterwards, 9:30 or 10:00 at The Anchor Inn, in Leek Wootton (mixed grill £11.50, steak & guinness pie £6.75).
Cost : c£8 for the golf, including equipment hire but PLUS meal costs. This cost includes an allowance for lost discs and should hopefully be less than this. On account.
Derek "Del" Robins, the UK Disc Golf champion will attend and has drawn up a shorter course for us, reducing the length of some holes and dropping 5 altogether. He also proposes to provide some basic skills coaching for us - what a hero!
