2 wheeled Pub Crawl

Monday 4th August 2003

Discover the joys of the South Warwickshire countryside

On Monday 4th August I am pleased to re-introduce the summer cycle ride (and pub visit) to the Tabling agenda. The tour will be shorter than some events in the days of Mr Wright, and I doubt it would trouble Lance Armstrong much, however it will certainly challenge the average Tabler or 41-er to remain balanced (at the end of the evening).

I'm planning a 6 pub tour, about 10 miles in total, starting at the Crown in Southam and finishing to dine at the Fox & Hen in Bascote Heath. Start time at the Crown is 8pm, however the hardened drinkers and softer cyclers amongst you might choose to drive to the Fox & Hen and have a quickie at 7:30, meeting up at the Crown as pub #2 - your choice! I suppose it depends on how far you have to get home after.....

Date and time : Monday 4th August 2003, optional start 7:30 at Fox & Hen

Dress: funny headgear a must I suppose, following Adam Woodyatt's experiences

Cost: no event cost, just yer refreshments and meal at the end (c£6 usually for meal plus pud)

Assemble: 8pm at The Crown in Southam

Bring your own bike and arrange any lifts amongst yourselves. Jens tells me he has a spare bike, I can't help out in that department I'm afraid. Be aware that some of the ride will be 'off-road' on towpaths.

Tablers, I assume you're coming unless you tell me otherwise. Guests, honoraries and 41-ers let me know by Friday 1st August so we know to wait at The Crown for the off, and to warn the Fox&Hen about meal numbers.

Hmmm, if it's chucking it down, it'll be darts at the Crown and a balti or something TBA.
