It’s time for Towler’s Tour and Treasure Trail again (aka "Know Your Home Town - Harbury 1999"). If everyone is like me and thinks that Harbury is a one-pub town - think again! There are other pubs as well as The Dog, not that this event will benefit from that fact, oh no, OK well maybe just a bit then! As per last year’s tour of Southam, it’s an on-foot investigation of Harbury et environs, rounded off with some nosebag and a glass or two of cordial. Thank you for all the feedback from last year’s outing, I have restyled the format accordingly. So, ... game on!

Date: 2 August 1999

Time: 7:00 to 7:25

Place: Harbury Village Hall (next to the playground)

Food: choices on the evening, aiming to eat about 9:30

Dress: anything that’s still clean after Andy’s off road event

Cost: £3 (includes prizes) plus meal - on account

Apologies and guests to me by noon Friday 30 July 1999.

The whole point is to have a foot-sloggin’, thirst-quenchin’, eyes-peerin’, tongue-waggin’, brain-searchin’ couple of hours, without being too competitive in chase of the prestigious prizes (You didn’t really eat 6 Mars bars on the way home last year, Mister Chairman?).

Be there, or be somewhere else.

Alan

Please note this event is arranged for fun and entry is at your own risk. The organisers accept no responsibility for weather conditions or excessive intake of food or alcohol. By the way, did you know the average car tyre rotates 30 million times in its lifetime. And another thing, there are 5 times more male than female alcoholics!
